SCP AmeriCorps encourages collaboration with community partners, organizations, and individuals to understand the prevalent social, structural, and systemic issues in local rural communities.
Direct service opportunities invite students and local and national civic-minded volunteers to actively engage in promoting social change through community-based initiatives in rural Appalachia.
The South Cumberland Plateau AmeriCorps Project is a direct service initiative with some capacity-building opportunities that engage our community through hunger relief, financial literacy, opioid prevention and recovery, tutoring, and education. Service members receive a living stipend during their service and are eligible for the Segal Education Award at the end of their volunteer term.
